Statement of Ethics & Scope of Practice

As a Structured Literacy Dyslexia Specialist, I am trained to understand dyslexia deeply and to support struggling readers with evidence-based, Orton-Gillingham–style instruction. My approach blends structured literacy with a warm, relational teaching style that honors the whole child — their personality, stamina, interests, and developmental stage.

During our initial placement session, I get to know your child’s reading profile, strengths, and needs. If I believe a child’s learning needs are more complex than what virtual, one-to-one structured literacy sessions can provide, I will always guide families toward appropriate multidisciplinary options. My goal is to ensure every child receives the level of support that is truly in their best interest.

I do not provide diagnostic evaluations. An educational psychologist or neuropsychologist is the appropriate professional to complete a formal dyslexia diagnosis. If a psycho-educational evaluation would benefit your child, I am happy to help you understand that process and connect you with trusted professionals.

My specialty is personalizing structured literacy in a calm, emotionally safe, and developmentally responsive way. I believe every child — including those with significant learning differences — deserves instruction that respects their humanity, builds confidence, and supports genuine progress.
